Elemental Profiles of Wild Thymus L. Plants Growing in Different Soil and Climate Conditions

Plants of the genus Thymus L. are traditionally used in medicine and cooking due to presence biologically active compounds them that have fungicidal, antibacterial other medicinal properties original taste qualities. Genetic features growing conditions cause elemental composition, responsibly synthesised compounds. However, information on contents distributions elements organs is very limited. This study was set compare wild thyme for different soil climatic conditions. Two species from Mongolian steppe coast Lake Baikal were collected during flowering. Twenty-four elements, including Si, soils, roots, stems, leaves flowers simultaneously determined by atomic emission spectrometry. Elemental profiles two described. It assumed Si a necessary element plant. The predominance genetic resistance plants over influence shown.
